A masonry heater burns wood in a unique, efficient, and beautiful way. You load the firebox with a charge of wood that is designed large enough to heat your area of up to 2,000 sqft. You burn the fire hot and fast so that you get complete, clean combustion with very low emissions. As the fire burns, the gases move through the heat-exchange channels inside the high-temperature refractory core of the heater. The warmth is absorbed by the masonry mass and radiates throughout the home long after the fire has stopped burning. Often, for as long as 24 hours. With the residual heat from the fire, you can cook meals and heat your domestic water. The fire is finished in about 3 hours so you can come home from work at 6 pm and close the damper by 9 or 10 pm before you go to bed and have a warm home for the next 12-24 hours from one fire
