For the Miller project by Sarona WI we built our SR-18 masonry heater core system with our white oven and a front and side heated bench with the chimney on the side.  The heater was finished with a 4″ solid CMU base for a Montana ledgestone thin veneer facing and a 2″ NY Bluestone stone hearth.
